SONIC WORLD RANKINGS: OFFICIAL RULES

1. ELIGIBILITY: Anyone in the world with a Sega Dreamcast console, Sonic Adventure or Sonic Adventure International GD-ROM, Internet Access and a valid email address may enter this contest. Children under the age of 13 must have their parent's permission to enter. Employees of Sega of America, Inc. ("Sega") and their immediate family members and Sega's respective affiliates and parents are not eligible. This contest is void where prohibited.

2. PRIZES STRUCTURE: For each individual World Rankings contest:

3rd Place trophy

1 World Rankings Point

T-shirts winners only eligible to win (1) T-shirt. T-shirts will be awarded to the next subsequent winners who have not won a T-shirt previously.

The top 10 winners in each Sonic World Ranking Contest will accrue World Ranking Points as follows: 1st place = 5 points; 2nd place = 4 points; 3rd place = 3 points; 4th place through 10th place = 1 point.

At the completion of the Sonic World Ranking contests, the points will be totaled and the top 10 point earners will receive a complete set of Sonic Adventure plush characters (Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Big, Amy and Chao) and a custom-made Sonic Jacket.

Additionally, the player who has collected all 130 emblems found in the Sonic game in the fastest time will be awarded a special trophy separate from the World Rankings trophy.

Approximate value of all prizes is $4,000.00 (US)

3. HOW TO PARTICIPATE: To enter, use your Sega Dreamcast console and Sonic Adventure game to play E-102 Gamma in Final Egg. Once your game is over, save your game, and upload your saved file to the Sonic Adventure Homepage. You can also submit comments with your game. You can upload as many times as you would like and Sega will record your best [time/score/fish weight]; however, all entries must be submitted using the same email address. Sega is not responsible for game entries that are late, lost, incomplete or misdirected due to transmission and/or computer error. Game entries become the property of Sega and will not be returned.

4. CONTEST DURATION: The new rules governing Sonic World Ranking contests will take affect starting with the 5th World Rankings contest which is schedule to open on June 16, 2000. Sonic World Rankings contests are currently scheduled through June 30, 2000. Contest schedule and rules are subject to change.

5. ODDS OF WINNING: Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received, which is anticipated to be approximately 1:1,000.

6. SELECTION OF WINNERS: Sega will rank all eligible game entries on the basis of [time/score/weight of fish]. For each World Rankings contest, prizes will be awarded to the top 10 entrants. At the end of the World Rankings contests, Sega will rank all players World Ranking Points and will rank the times of all players collecting all 130 emblems. Prizes will be awarded to the top 10 point earners and to the player who has collected all 130 emblems in the fastest time. Winners will be notified via email and/or telephone call. Prizes not claimed within 30 days of notification will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. Prizes won by minors may be awarded in the name of a parent or legal guardian. Allow 4-8 weeks for delivery of prizes.

7. CONDITIONS: By entering the contest, participants (and, if minors, their parents/legal guardians) agree to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules. Sega is not liable in any way for damage, loss or injury resulting from misdirected or incomplete entries or acceptance, use or misuse of the prize. Sega and its agencies are not responsible for technical, hardware, software or telephone malfunctions of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, incomplete, inaccurate, garbled or delayed electronic communications caused by the sender, or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this contest which may limit the ability to play or participate, or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this contest. If, for any reason, (including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause beyond the control of Sega which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this contest), this contest is not capable of being conducted as described in these rules, Sega shall have the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest. Winner assumes liability for injuries caused or claimed to be caused by participation in this contest or the use or misuse of any prize. Winner will be required to execute an affidavit or eligibility and release, which must be completed and returned within 21 days of notification or an alternate winner may be selected. Taxes and additional shipping, handling and delivery fees in excess of prize amount, if any, are the sole responsibility of the prize winner. No substitution of prize is allowed, except by Sega, which may substitute a prize for a prize of equal or greater value. By accepting a prize, winner grants Sega permission for the use of his or her name and/or photograph for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. This contest is subject to all federal, state and local laws and is void where prohibited.
